Sophie Carnell | Silent Sentinels

A herbarium of works in silver focussing on the rare plants of lunawanna-allonah | Bruny Island. Presented in the Howard Hadley Gallery.

Admission is free | Artworks for sale

Sophie is a silversmith and contemporary jeweller working from her studio in lunawanna-allonah / Bruny Island, Tasmania, drawing inspiration from the stunning landscape of Southern Tasmania. Predominantly working in silver though also utilising natural and manmade found materials Sophie creates sculptures, objects and wearable tokens that speak of the worth of our environment; our gratitude for it and degradation of it; of the effects that place can have on its inhabitants and conversely the impact that those occupants can have on their surroundings.
